I would use a thin coat of RTV on the threads instead of teflon pipe tape ....

I would use Permatex thread sealant or equivalent. The tape tears too easily.
There's also an Oil Filter Adaptor sticky here...in case the leak is dripping from there, but actually coming from somewhere else. Hairline cracks can be hard to see, and that part is under pressure so even a small crack will cause you to lose oil at an alrming rate.

    Good Luck and
    Good Day

Id try that. Be carefull when re-installing it. Pipe threads dont have to be super tight. Just use a few layers of teflon tape and then tighten till snug. if it still leaks the housing might be cracked.
