i just brought a 1999 Crown vic police package. Wanting to know what kind of gears to put in the rear 3.55 or 373. I have the 80mm maf from a ford lighting truck for my cold air intake from my friends marauder. Also adding the sct tune as well.

3.55s should wake it up and still keep it reasonable on mileage.2011 Mustang GT Premium, MT82, Kona/Saddle, HIDs, 3.73s, 19s, hood/side stripes, UPR 1.5" springs with adjustable panhard bar, and UMI solid LCAs and relocation brackets.
1992 Explorer Eddie Bauer, slight lift, 34s, and A/C...

Only '00 and '01 PI's came with 3.55 gears. Though it is now an option on the new ones.
If you go with 3.55's you should be alright with your existing driveshaft, though you will experience vibration at high speeds. If you go to 3.73's you will definitely need the MMC driveshaft to stop the vibrating.2000 Mercury Grand Marquis LS HPP.

Since you have a 99, you might want to check it first.
I'm not sure if any 3.27 PI's had the MMC driveshaft, but it is worth looking at it. Here's some info...

All 1999 Police Interceptors should have a 3.55 RAR.
Like mentioned above check the axle tag to be sure.
