Friend has a 97 Town Car. Car had the factory remote entry (the peanut shaped clickers). Course they broke, no batteries fixed it so they are junk.
I sourced the updated box shaped clickers. Can't get the car to enter programming mode using the keypad as it says to do in the owners manual.
Does it need a new module in the door for the remote entry? The keypad works fine. All the buttons work (I did the test to make sure they light up and send a signal). Read somewhere I could use a door module from a 98-99 Crown/Grand Marq/Town and it'd work fine except to enter programming mode you'd cycle the key or something.
Any ideas? What can I test next?
