    Engine Run on

    Hi
I have been getting a lot of run on after my merc gets warm and driving for a while when i turn it off it runs on for a couple secs, is this beacuse of the timing may be to far advanced or wrong grade of fuel, or somthing else???

    Yeah, try retarding your timing.

If the plugs aren't in good shape they could have junk on them keeping them hot. Lean fuel mix can possibly also cause this since it will make the plugs run hotter. If they're due for replacement, maybe try going one heat range colder if retarding the timing slightly doesn't help. Also, if the idle is way high it will tend to do this a bit more too, over 800 will possibly cause dieseling.
