    Need Input :-D

Ima try and keeep this short ;-)

Ok think one of my prob's is The idel is to low. That might be whats making it want to try and turn it's self off. But I told my self a whille back i wasent going to touch the idle any more. After it sounded good with the bad Exhaust.

My queston is do you think i should try to increase the curb idel? Or that other screw. Or Should i leave it alone?

I got to thinking about this when i applied verry little amount of gas and she was doing great. just resting my foot on the peddel.

    Any coments Are welcomed :-P

Are you saying that you're thinking the fact that the idle is too low is causing the number one cylinder to misfire, as you mentioned in your last post? If so, I doubt the two are related. Engine speed shouldn't affect spark strength in any way.

in that case, bumping the idle a bit certainly won't hurt anything. No guarantee it'll fix the problem, but it won't hurt. Is there any specific condition where it does this? Hot? Cold? Neutral? In gear? Any other special conditions that might cause it? Do you have a tach to put on it so you can see what the idle speed is currently?

:-D It does it hot or cold. but mostly in park. sometimes in nutrale. Worse so though when it's cold. or Sticky weather. My Tach states that it goes anywhere from 0 to 700 near 0 i should say when it's trying to quit....

I woldent worrymuch about it except it's really getto. And rather anoying.. I like to be able to turn my car over and let her warm up. Or put her in park to go to a vending machine.. Lol. Or not be on the gas and brake at a stop sign. yea know?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Not being able to leave the car idling without worrying about whether it'll keep running or not.

Another thought I had...this car has CFI, correct? Have you checked to see if the dashpot is doing anything goofy? I'm not sure what it would do, but if it's acting up, that could make a problem. Just another idea to keep in mind.

Its the rod that pushes on the throttle lever, mounts toward the front of the CFI unit. Curb idle should be around 700 rpm. See http://www.grandmarq.net/vb/showthre...t=idle+control for how to wire a switch to manually engage high idle whenever you want / need it.

If you want to see a picture of a dashpot, go to my Cardomain page. Click on page three and look at the third picture down. My car is carbureted, but yours has the same exact part in the same place. It's the vacuum diaphragm at the front of the carb that has a rod coming out of it that acts as the throttle stop. Hope this helps.
