    Underdrive Pulleys

Is there a underdrive pulley kit available for these cars? All I can find is kits for the mustangs, which are a single belt set-up. If theres none directly made for our cars, is there another kit that would be interchangeable?

Nothing is interchangable. ASP does make that crank pulley. That's it. Works great though.

When you change that crank pulley, is the size decreased so much that you can no longer use the stock belts? Or is there enough play left over to adjust the extra slack outta the belts?

I have a similar underdrive crank pulley, but it's a Moroso brand. It's for a single belt application. It's never been used, but a little older, still has the instruction sheet I believe. I'll let it go if someone wants to purchase it, since I have functional A/C on my car, I can't use a single belt.

Make me an offer, I won't be insulted. I'll get a picture soon, too.

Yup, but if you're running an HO or something insane like me, you NEED it.

Thats not that bad. And they kinda got ya by the nutz if they are the only manufacturer of a pulley specific for our cars. I'd rather spend that and get new belts then screw around with a comple mustang accessory change-over. If i switch to that pulley, what belts should I be lookin at gettin

Why is it needed for regular HO engines, cause of the higher RPMs they go to? If I install an underdrive pulley on my non-HO engine what gains will I see? (already got the HO intake and the free flowing exhaust)

On a non-HO, probably not much. And yeah, for HO engines it's because fo the much higher RPM that they reach. I blew every single hose off my old car, melted alternators, and bent alternator fins because of over revving the accessories.

Putting a smaller pulley on the alternator is the same as putting an overdrive pulley on the crank. To slow accessories down you want a bigger accessory pulley and/or smaller crank pulley.
