    AOD questions

Now, this stupid thing won't shift like I want it too. Its not gonna the way the dumbfucks in orlando drive. So, I want to put a floor shifter in or a 5 speed. Now with a floorshifter I want full control of this tranny. So which valvebody do I need for no automatic shifting? Trying to decide if a 5 speed would be cheaper, but I think the aod is stronger.

There are no manual valve bodies for the AOD that I know of. You best bet is to buy my tranny, as it has a custom modification to the valve body that gives it a OD-2-1 shift pattern, so you could hold it in 1st or 2nd as long as you wish. Only downside is not being able to force third.

Its seeming like thats my best option for the aod blaze. I may just have to hold out until your ready to sell it.

Nope. It's a simple design problem. There are 3 shifter positions, and 4 gears. They technicaly do make one, but you would be forced to give up OD, thereby making you AOD into something else. You can't have an "Automatic OverDrive" without overdrive.

Lentech DOES make a manual valve body for the AOD, however its a full race set up and requires a one piece input shaft as well as a different torque converter.

I guess you didnt bother reading the link I posted.

O/D is electronically controled. the valve body also has fixed line and TV pressures, so the TV cable is no longer required.

I did read your link. But I also misread it. They should call it an electric OD shut off switch, instead of a delete. Bad wording on their part.

Also, at those prices you might as well go with a T-5.

never said it was cheap... just said it was available.

besides I never did understand why you would want an automatic you shifted manually.
if the trans doesnt shift how you want, fix it so it shifts properly.

Manual valve bodies can shift faster and harder than an automatic valve body can. Only drag folk are that sensitive though.

I always assumed manually shifted automatics for normal day to day driving were owned by weenies who want to pretend they are driving a stick, but who can't actually operate one.

full manual valve bodies, all the control of a manual with the speed and consistency of an automatic. No missed shifts, no clutch, no kick down/tv cable. Would i have one in a daily driver? probably not. Not sure how well the shifter and transmission would stand up to constant shifting like that.

Not at all, it's quite the opposite. Only the most hard core dragters get them. No one else can afford it anyways lol.

Having a 2, D, OD pattern would be ideal. Lockout for OD is almost required unless you want to rebuild your trans often when you fry OD from constant shifting at 40-50 MPH.
