Cooling problem.

    Cooling problem.

    Or more like, heating problem.

    Before I did the carb swap, the temp would run about a 1/4 above the cold dash on the gauge. After I did the swap, the needle would stay pretty close to the cold dash. After I pulled the A/C and the condenser, it runs even cooler! It now stays directly on the Cold dash. WTF?

    Time for a new thermostat? What will happen if I leave it? Carbon build up? Lower MPG? Engine problems? Will the earth 'Splode??????

    Cold???

    Did you pull the evaporator or what ever its called that is mounted in front of the radiator?? if so, it is getting more air thru the radiator.. and so it is running colder... or the thermostat is locked open for some reason, or, well, uh, the Earth is getting ready to splode!!!! (or the sky is falling.. whatever....)

          Condensor is in front of the radiator for cooling (condensing) the refrigerant. The evaporator is in your heater/AC box for cooling interior air.

            get you an aftermarket guage for an accurate reading!

              the thingy in front of the radiator is called the condensor.......the evaporator is inside the heater box in the dash
              what temp thermostat are you running jon? if you are running a 180. it will run colder. or it may just be time for a replacement

                I have on idea what T stat i'm running. It's been in there since before my grandpa died. My guess is it's a 180. ???

                I will pick a new one up and see what happens.

                  Unfortunently, the only way to tell is to pull it out, and see what it says on the thermostat.... And if you go through that much trouble, change it!
