I should have picked one of those up when I installed my trans. Maybe next service I'll throw one in. I hate the smooth as butter Lincoln shift action.

its a good kit, I have one in my car and have installed them in several other AOD's
Now you need to get the TV cable adjusted corretly, it sounds like you need to go one or two notches tigher. its best to use a gauge if you have access to one.

shift kit status: installed
today i spent a few hours on my aod, installing my Transgo shift kit. just like every other project, it had its problems. first problem was that i discovered my tranny, where the mount bolts, is cracked at both holes. it isnt a saftey issue, or anything thats gonna break anytime soon... but i will have the holes welded up and drilled and tapped when i remove the tranny during my engine swap. second problem was a pan bolt hole was stripped out and leaked after the job was complete. problem seems to be fixed... tapped for a slightly larger bolt and it snugged up... i will know in the morning. both issues werent related to installing the kit... that went great. though it doesnt chirp the tires, it tightened up the shifts alot and definitly improved my acceleration. i didnt get the transgo HP kit, just the "shift improvement kit". maybe it will chirp them with my HO im puttin in. anyways, shift kits are easy! just thought id let you know.Tags: None
