The wagon's got headers now!!!

Installed some used mustang headers today... The whole process was pretty easy. No bolts broke (Imagine that), and had the whole swap done in 2 hrs. I was expecting to work late into the night while drilling and tapping all the broken bolts. =)

Tomorrow she goes to the exhaust shop and the downpipes get fabbed up and the h-pipe installed. Not putting a picture because everyone has seen a vic compartment with headers.

I need to go take it to the track now and see what she runs.

what shop are you having do it? and are you trying to make your car even louder? i bet if i go outside right now and you start it up and rev it up a couple times i could hear it :evil:

and actually, it is surprisingly quieter then I was expecting. At idle, it's not loud one bit... untill I really open her up, and it's a little bit louder than open manifolds... But over all, it's quiet enough to where I'm not gonna put mufflers on it.

I'm poor and that was the cheapest way to do it. =)

And also... After my 500 mile roundtrip yesterday to the boondocks out in the country and back to the city, I have come to the conclusion the pipes are too low to the ground. So I am going to have to do something about it. Don't know yet.

You could turn those clamps upside down, so that the bolt studs aren't hanging an extra inch or two below the rest of the exhaust.

Those aren't hitting actually. It's the tail pipes. And I can only get them up so far cause of the ground. I'm gonna get down there and see what's going on with 'em though.

it looks like you got the H pipe modified and welded to some bent headder down tubes... you couldnt get a couple elbows bent and welded up too? or even piece something together from pre-bent spacer peices at autozone... those arent very epensive.

I feel you there, I still haven't got 2-1/2" tail pipes for mine, I just slack ass welded some adpters onto the stock tail pipes. I was done workin on that damn exhaust.
