I have had a few people ask me how i got my mid-legnth headers to fit.
they are Summit brand 302 headers for a fox body mustang. This is a 351W so i do not know what is required to get this to work on a 302. But it looks like if these are used on a 302 the #8 might hit the frame crossmember.
The passenger side required no modification. The primaries appear close to the control arm but there is about 1/2" and the control arm is as close to the motor as possible
The drivers side required cutting and welding. The headers were originally designed to have the #8 primary go over the steering shaft, however that would never work ina Panther. Primaries #5,6 and 7 were brought about 1/2" -3/4" closer to the motor. #8 had to be brought in over an inch, this required cutting a pie piece out of the back of the bend, it then had to be welded shut. All primaries had to be slightly ovaled to fit against the short pieces of primaries on the flange. there is plenty of room between the #8 primary and the steering shaft.
I make no guarantees that this will work for anyone else, this is just what worked on my 85
