Most any cold air intake from a Mustang will work.

I used a MAC cold air set up for my car from a 96-98 Mustang, only because it had the correct flange for the MAF meter I was using. in theory you could use a SD kit as well.

For my application I had to cut about 6-7" out of the pipe and plug the the extra hoses.

I've also seen PVC and the elbows from a Vic or Mustang with a cone filter on the end of it. Cheap, but it works. Clean the PVC and paint it and it doesn't look half bad, but maybe not as cool as polished stainless or aluminum tubing.

I made one out of some gutter pipe, a K&N filter, and a couple rubber elbows from a mustang. I've seen mustang ones modded to work and it was a true cold air setup...

Another setup I saw was a powerstroke intercooler pipe cut to fit with a cone filter.

I've seen a custom one done from 2 Honda kits. The guy removed the stock washer/overflow bottles and ran the cone filter right out there.

BTW, if you didn't know it, if you pull the washer/overflow bottle, there is a bigass hole there.

Fan shrouds from 90s models have the overflow built in to them, and newer models also have a relocated washer bottle, so you could do something like that. I'm probably going to do one myself, or maybe just do a warm air (in the engine compartment) to clear some space. The stock box is pretty decent, but it does take a heck of a lot of space. Tho, to be perfectly honest, you aren't going to gain anything in performance replacing that stock box. It would be really appearance-only in nature.

You can get one for a Mustang, or make your own. Either way it's not going to be a COLD air intake if you leave it all open in the engine bay. It's gonna be taking in warm air. Really, your stock air intake system is pretty decent.

I've done some looking, and it doesn't seem like anyone makes any cold air intake systems specifically for the GM/CV/TC engine compartment. When you take out the stock airbox, you are left with a TON of room. Therefore, there has to be an intake kit from some manufacturer, made for some other vehicle, that would fit in this space. Anyone have any luck finding any that work? I'm hoping for something from K&N, but I am curious about other manufacturers too.
