you will need the extended tailshaft housing.
Do it. you wil have slightly better acceleration, better gas milage, higher criticl driveshaft speed, less weight overall. A steelshaft and u-joints weighs about 20#s an aluminum shaft with u-joints weighs 10#shttp://secondhandracing.com/Home.aspx

The one the guy gave me....think it was out of a newer vic. All I got was the actual shaft, no yokes or u joints.
It lessened vibration quite alot. Although I found that the yoke and the bushing are pretty much trashed on my car.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons

The wheelbase is about 3" longer. What that means for the underside is at least a longer tailshaft/tranny and driveshaft, anything else im not sure

I think they are both longer. Seems to me I've seen a pic of a Vic and TC driveshaft next to each other and the TC shaft was about 2" longer.
Just curious, do the Vic driveshafts have a rubber isolater ring around the front yoke? The one out of xxx's TC has an arrangement just like an engine's harmonic balancer with a rubber isolated steel ring around the front yoke area. My car doesn't have this, but I also have fatter U joints because of the tow package.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
