You can easily make 450HP+ with a 351 cube motor and Victor Jr or AFR 185 or one of the other larger heads. This can easily be done at 6500RPM's or less. I would consider it a street/strip combo.

Depending on the cost factor, I wouldn't mind using a little nitrous. I've never used it and am quite unfamiliar with it, so I still have some of those "oh my God my engine'll explode" fears. I'd like to learn more about it.

As far as staying at 351 c.i., I'm up for just about anything. At this point I'm trying to figure out if what I want can be done (and how cheaply) vs. a big block. I like the idea of a smallblock for fitment issues, it'll plop right down in the car. That means it'll be on the road a lot sooner than if I had to get a BFH and shoe-horn a big block in there.

do you want to stay at 351 cubic inches? Those numbers wont be a problem with a stroker, im planning on having around 500 myself. You can do a 408 quite a bit cheaper than mine if you dont want to use nitrous with it and still have all the same n/a power.

With the right parts, yes... I could see it being reasonable. Not sure how streetable that would be, but with an AOD or C4, you could likely pull it off.

Is 450-500hp a realistic goal without using a blower? I'd like it to be streetable, and as reliable as possible. This is for a weekend street/strip toy.
Working...
