Years ago I had a new trans installed. Everything is still fine except the shift needle is one position off. I knew where everything was so I didn't care. Like I said it is one position off, so if it is OD the needle covers the N and so on. Now what is involved the adjust it to be correct. I have done 60s GM but not this. Thanks for any help Gary

The collar around the shift shaft in the steering column has come loose. Pull the covers off and you'll see the collar. What I did was zip tie the thing back together. Later on I replaced the plastic section with a shaped bit of metal L bracket (one leg curved around the shaft and the other 90 degree twist to put a bolt on for the cable to loop around) and screwed that into the centering hole that the collar uses to align itself. But yeah, it's all in the steering column.
