I searched the forums & couldnt find any info on this but on my 91 CV the blower motor will only work on high. Any suggestions where to start?

usally what goes is the speed control risistor thats on the firewall on the pasenger side in the engine compartment. its a black rectangular pice of plastic with a connector with round 5 wires going to it, on the EFI cars its a bit of a pain to get at but not bad and is held in i think by 5/16 screws/bolts. thats what usally goes.

Most of the time it is a dealer part. Parts stores only carry them for newer cars (99+)"Owning a 9-second Import is like coming out of the closet.... At first it may be surprising, but in the end, you're still gay!"

I finally took a look at resistor. The connector pins were all rusted together to the point that I tore up connector getting them apart. So now Im thinking "no heat at all now" and the damn blower will still run on the high setting with the resistor completely removed. What all years and models had that same resistor so I can get another connector from a yard somewhere?

to my knowlageyou gadda find a 79-91 box TC, CV, or GM with the same system to your car either ATC or the 3speed reg system...the best is when you find a couple cars with upper intakes removed or engines removed, so you can collect them!

You can't just get those anywhere? Honestly never checked but I wouldn't have thought it to be a dealer specific item.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Thats really wierd it still blows even with the resistor removed... maybe the switch is bad too? shorted out to high?
I want to say Ive seen some resistors on aeros look simmilar, but I bet they changed them in '90Pete ::::>>> resident LED addict and CFI defector LED bulb replacements

The reason the blower still works on High with the resistor out is because the "high" setting is direct power. It bypasses the resistor. The resistor is there to drop the power the the blower motor for the slower speeds"Owning a 9-second Import is like coming out of the closet.... Update... Yes they are stooooopid exspensive so i did some fancy Mcgiver rigging since 1 pin of the resistor broke off and the harness connector didnt agree with all the pb blaster I soaked it with and crumbled during the unplugging process. In the end every wire is connected with the resistor where it should be and motor works on all speeds. I spend 3 hrs a day in her and blower has run every second of it for a week now. Ill pick 1 up after tax return cause I know im livin on borrowed time
