Subwoofer potential and radio dimensions for 1990 Grand marquis

    Two basic questions:

    1. Does the head unit for the Grand Marquis have pre-outs for an external amp for a subwoofer? I'm doubting it but just wondered. It looks like the Lincolns came with subs, at least some of them did.

    2. What is the dimension for the head unit in our cars. Is it single DIN? I've got an older Pioneer Supertuner head unit from the late 1990's that has RCA pre-outs that would allow for an external amp (e.g. then, a subwoofer).

    1) Doubt the OEM units have pre-outs. Maybe the newer ones do but not that old.

    2) !990's should be a single DIN. My '87 is and so was my '93 so I would think so!

No preouts, single din is the right size.

          install your pioneer and enjoy!
no reason to keep the stock head unit.

If you want the wiring diagram to know which wires are which and to save $30 off of a harness adapter, if you care, I can scan that page out of the manual.
