89 MGM headlight problems

Well today i come outside to see only one of my lowbeams working. I Figure ah what the hell a bulb died. So i flip on my highbeams to go driving and what do i notice all 4 bulbs are on. So with highbeams my lowbeam goes on that i thought is dead.

I switch back to lowbeams only same thing still one out. What gives?

reason being is because the h4656 has two filliments. the h4656 is also used for
other cars such as the dodge dakota thoses uses only the h4656 for both high beam and lo beam. our cars use h4651 for highs so when you hit the high beam its actually using the high beam filliment for the lo beam bulb that burned out

The low beam filament in that housing is dead.

Now do me, and everyone else on the road a favor. Replace both low beam lamps, even though your other one is working fine. That way you won't be fucking with peoples eyes.

Coulda gone in electrical, but not tech. Anyway, does it really matter??

The "tech' section is 5.0/5.8 to panther muscle, including electrical
