First wash/Underneath Pictures (some bad news)

Took it to the car wash tonight to kill some time, gonna have to wait till tommorow to detail it, but all the major dirt and grime is gone. Just some night shots. Also had it up on the lift today at work, snapped a couple shots of the underbody. All was going well till the damage done by the A/C drain reared its ugly head, and some prodding with my finger turned a quarter sized hole into the swiss cheese mess you see. Good thing is its the only spot with any major rot, gonna have to get it fixed. Also had a body mount on the right rear along the back disintigrate when i touched it and fall onto the floor in a heap of rust and rubber, gotta replace those too, and I've read how much fun they are. Also discovered the a/c dosent work and That I keep getting blasts of hot air on my feet, same as in the crown vic. Lotsa fun, gonna do a quick vacum and shampoo on the interior tommorow to do until the car is sitting and I can pull everything out to clean it all.

This is what all the floors look like too.

Now for the hideous looking frame corner

Night shots after getting washed for the first time by me.

Stupid cold has worn me out, time for sleep...

BTW Scott, truck is a 1979 GMC C-15. Was completely restored in the early 2000's, bought it in July 05 cause I just had to have it, drove it till October 05, got my first Vic as a winter car, and the trucks not been on the road since. Went to put it back on last year but it was running like garbage, did a compression check, max compression on any of the 8 cylinders was 60psi. Toast. Now its an expensive driveway ornament and a constant reminder to me not to spend much more than a grand on a vehicle. Bodys just starting to show some shitty bodywork, but underneath is still mint.

Nice Towny, looks real solid, just a little rust cleanup.

BTW, what is compression supposed to be at for that truck? I'm guessing around 130-140psi?

Yikes, holy frame rust! The rest looks pretty nice though for a Kanadian car. My wag is rusty as sin, but thankfully the frame isn't rotten. I have yet to see a rotten frame car in my area.
I see you have one of those Air Tube to Cat heater hose repairs like my wagon had. I dunno how that hose doesn't catch on fire.
The exterior looks wonderful. Those headlights look really bright, are they aftermarket of some sort?

Even higher, depending on what exact heads are on it, even factory GM heads make a difference. Actually exactly low compression is the reason why my friend Lynn's Stang GT runs on only 7 cylinders - it's got the sparkplug pulled, the injector disconnected from the harness, and a junker injector hooked up in its place so the computer don't read a malfunction and act funky. Reason for low compression is supposed to be that the cylinder is cracked somewhere. Still, you'll be surprised how durable those engines are, Lynn's been driving like that for quite a while now, and we're still waiting on it to die, but it just don't wanna. What bugs me about Zack's truck is that it lost compression of all cylinders just by sitting - that seems real odd to me..

                    Stuck rings, perhaps?

The proper fix for most GM problems, especially those caused by sitting, is to take the vehicle out and flog the shit out of it. It fixes more than it breaks.

was waiting for something like that Seriously tho, ignore the fact it's a GM engine, would stuck rings cause a problem like that? And how exactly do rings get stuck?
