                  I don't understand. The hood ornament mounts onto the header panel.

                        Tee hee hee. I was referring to the weird hood ornament on the car (enlarged screenshot attached). Different than what I've always seen for a '79 LTD ornament.


                        Oh, and to clarify, the car was the thing about which I said "want" - I have no use for an early Mercury grille at this time.




                        (PS. Had to look up "wobbly pops". I hadn't thought one IPA had THAT much effect on me!)

                            Maybe a mexico or canada model that had a different ornament at one time? Any pics of the gauge cluster to see if it's in miles or kilometers?

                            Nvm, I see it's in MPH now that I look at it again. I'm surprised that car sold for over $3,000... Not quite presentable enough IMO.

                                Hard to say. Has some good things going for it. '79, wagon, slicktop, woodgrain, 351/C4 (not that that matters much, all 140hp worth), very good condition from the pics. What about it (other than some wear on the seats) did you think wasn't "presentable enough"?
