I just noticed this today on my '94 GM. There is a very corroded cylindrical object (looks like a capacitor) that has a wire coming from it and it goes into the small rectangular area where the spark plug wires come out (not from the actual spark plugs). Should I be concerned that it is corroded? I might be able to get a picture of it, but it's awful late here.

A picture and a year/model of car we're talking about would be a great help. I'm going to guess and say its probably the noise filter on the coil packs, but I'm not 100% on that. If thats what it is, its not a big deal being corroded. If your stereo starts picking up strange noises, that will probably be the issue.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
