Just get some decent mufflers (NO RUSTMASTERS) and you will be ok. Have a cat back system with 2.25 piping bent with a magnaflow x flow muffler acting as an x pipe..You'll thank me later

Nate you need to find a muffler guy who will do that illegal work for you. I go to a guy who only accepts cash and gives no receit, that's how I got my cat removed. Ask around and you might find someone like that up there.

Thank god this is unlocked. I got worried for a sec. I can see not allowing mods that could harm others, but a better exhaust system, I mean, hell, lets ban all 75 and older cars without cats??

Yeah, my 1978 Jeep didn't come with cats I heard that it was pretty much standard for all vehicles in 78 but then again it was made in Canada. I say just go with straight pipes and marauder UN-resonated tips and leave the cats for now if you want more sound...just stay away from flowmaster mufflers they do NOT sound good on a mod.

Well, one of those .... but the theory there is that decisions with the force of law should have to be individually passed by Congress in order to fly rather than delegated to a group of activists who enjoy using the general public for target practice.

You left out MI and IN ... I'd guess the BMV (IN) and SOS (MI) would never know any difference, unless you live near Chicago or Cincinnati (peculiarly nasty smog nazis in the IN counties adjoining those areas). I just think it's silly to ruin a functioning catalytic converter that would be important to a theoretical future owner who happens to have the misfortune to live in a borough of Smog Heck.

That, my good sir is one of the very few reasons I see to keep the darn things. I have no intentions of getting rid of them on my kia, but the second ange's 238k car decides to clog cats, they're goin.
