    Stupid strut problem...

I need to get the stabilizer bar end links out so I can pull the struts. It's un-bolted but just won't come out. The angle it's on has it taught with the hole. I'm going to try pushing it with a punch and mallet. Before I do that is there a trick to getting the stupid thing out? I'm trying real hard not to break the end links because I can't source them locally. It's an 07.

    EDIT: I'm an idiot!

Do you have both upper and lower nuts off?

Yes. I ended up having to take off the stabilizer bar. I felt pretty stupid after that.

This my first time ever doing struts and it's a nightmare. I didn't think I would have to take the whole hub apart.

Too bad you're at the other end of the state. Payoff is huge though!

I've been referring to a write up I found on cvn. I finally got the first one in. I think I have it figured out. I'm using the civilian springs on mine. Hoping to avoid an overly harsh ride. I hope it feels a bit like the Taurus interceptors. Those are perfect while the shocks are still good.

Very cool! Great minds think alike. How do you like them? I like them cornering and on bad roads but have found them a little harsh. I'm getting old though

They're a l little harsh on really bad roads but for the most part it rides like a dream. It's a lot more level around turns. The car seems to sit about a inch or two higher. I guess the old shocks were really sagging. I like how it doesn't jiggle around corners or when I get in and out anymore. I like the solid feeling.
