If they built the motor around the spark plugs then the 302 would use whatever was around in the late 50's/early 60's.

Bosch Supers (the copper ones) are great. Ran them exclusively in the VW because it was the only plug it ran right on. They were also cheap. Not been impressied with Bosch platinum plugs tho, ran bad in the VW, pinged in the S10. Car is running Autolite platinum, but will go back to coppers when I swap the heads. Honestly no difference in the Autolite copper to Autolite platinum on my car. Also no special reason for the swap back other than it was what was in stock when I picked up the parts.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

you get what you pay for, champion spark plugs are junk in my opinion. i believe a very under-rated spark plug is NGK.. they make a good plug for the money, and also have an iranium type plug if your looking for top of the line. autolites are made by motorcraft, but i've never had good luck with autolites.. NGK plugs are fully supported by all MSD ignition products, top of the line ignition for top of the line spark plugs.Comment

I've run AC Delco in the boat before, and currently run NGK as its now the manufacturer's (MerCruiser) reccomended plug. They run great. NGK was also the only plug that ever ran right in a jet ski for me. We had them from the time I was a real little kid till my early 20s, various makes and models, all ran on NGK. We tried others, and it never worked right. Our dirt bikes also ran NGK for the same reason. Its a great 2-stroke plug. I've installed Champions in marine Chevy motors, and they run lousy. Fouling problems, cold start issues, and other random stuff that using an NGK fixed nicely.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Autolite double plats or Motorcraft double plats.Bee runnin autolites for years with out an issue.

at o'reilly's, we're supposed to recommend NGK for all foreign vehicles and AC Delco's for all domestic.. ??? Delco makes good plugs, but NGK are worth more the money to meComment
