Do the 85 CFI engines use a cast or steel gear on the distributor? Looking to get a duraspark to put the engine from my 85 GM into a pickup

What he said, assuming nobody put an 86+ engine in there for some reason. Only real tell is the heads, 86+ use an odd extended spark plug. if you put 85 plugs in there, it either won't catch a thread, or it will not turn very far before bottoming out.
