I think I blew something up!

driving home from work yesterday the car suddenly surged forward under medium throttle. Feels like it was doing it in second gear. I'll start going from a stop, motor's revs are stable, car is moving fine, then all of a sudden it almost feels like I hit the gas at wide open throttle. The transmission doesnt feel like its slippin, fluid is good(maybe a little too much actually)not burnt, using mercon five.OD is good, no slips, third seems fine.

When it was doing it i decided to get on the gas a little at the next stop. I'm at wot, motor isnt winding up,then all of a sudden it kicks it in the ass. Upshifts and downshifts seem normal. Cables/bushing are all there, adjusted the tv pressure according to the threads when i first got the car.

What could this be?TPS? i HOPE it isnt a tranny problem. There just isnt slip, just a delayed reaction between me hitting the gas and the motor not revving.
*before you ask the e-brake is not on-that was the first thing i checked

Fuel filter? Happened on my TC when I got it. Spark plugs and wires are another random guess.

So let me see if I understood correctly, your complaint is that your car is displaying random boosts of extra power?

no there is a delay from when the throttle is pressed,to the motor actually revving. big delay.

have you checked it for codes? Could be a failed TPS or something. Should turn up a code if its a sensor problem.

a while ago i tried hooking up a snap on one from my buddy, turns out his connector on a 3000 dollar scanner cannot hook up to my car's connector. There were two pins that had to be moved in order for it to work so i told him nvrmd. At any rate there is no CEL on,so might be a stored code?
also i did adjust my tps a couple of months ago,the voltage was low on the wot range.

might be easier to just do the jumper test. http://fordfuelinjection.com/?p=13
