    how to remove fuel rail?

    i believe one of my injectors is leaking because when i started my car this morning gas was all over the ground.i got the upper off, not i just need to get the fuel rail off the lower.how do i disconnect the lines?pics would be greatly appreciated

    you need a spring lock disconnect tool.. you can buy a cheap one at the parts store.
    disconnect the fuel lines and remove the 4 8mm bolts that hold the rail to the lower manifold.

    search for KD tool 3290

      if the tool kit is color coded you will need the red and blue disconnect tools.

        ok so i bought the kit and i got the blue and the red part, but how do i go about using them?do i just push them into the spring?nevermind i got it lol.thanks guys

          yeah.... push the tool in and pull the connection apart.

            mk so i got the rail off.do you guys think that its one of the injectors that just needs to be rebuilt?the gas came from the right side of the engine.I was thinking of having them all rebiult anyway because of this happening

              probably going to need new pintile caps and o rings.......the caps often come off the injectors and stick to the intake when removing them

              1986 lincoln towncar signature series. 5.0 HO with thumper performance ported e7 heads, 1.7 roller rockers, warm air intake, 65mm throttle body, 1/2" intake spacer, ported intakes, 3.73 rear with trac lock, 98-02 front brake conversion, 92-97 rear disc conversion, 1" rear swaybar, 1 3/16" front swaybar, 16" wheels and tires, loud ass stereo system, badass cb, best time to date 15.94 at 87 mph. lots of mods in the works 221.8 rwhp 278 rwt
              2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature. Stock for now
              1989 Ford F-250 4x4 much much more to come, sefi converted so far.
              1986 Toyota pickup with LSC wheels and 225/60/16 tires.
              2008 Hyundai Elantra future Revcon toad
              1987 TriBurner and 1986 Alaska stokers keeping me warm. (and some pesky oil heat)

              please be patient, rebuilding an empire!

                the little orange caps right?all of those stayed on the injectors when i pulled the rail from the intake.you think all they need is a rebuild and i shud be good then?

                    The rebuild kits come with new pintle caps and 2 O rings for each injector. I'd pick up 8 rebuild kits and replace the caps and O rings on each injector. Use some sort of lubricant when putting the injectors back in. WD40 works OK for this, but silicone dielectric grease works a little better.

                      KY works very well for things that tight as well.

                        true, I've used that to re-install wing vent glass into the frames. Thing is though, its water soluable, not oil soluable. It might not wash off and get burned once installed.
