what speed should OD kick in?

Hello I was wondering what speed should my OD kick in under steady gas not getting on the freeway but easy gas? I heared 45 and 55 anyone know?? I adjusted my tv rod 85 merc and doesn't shift in od till 55 at 2grand RPM under steady gas. Sound right?? It just seems 2 grand is alot and should shift sooner but I my be wrong

Sounds a bit high to me. Mine will hit overdrive under light throttle about 45.

After my experiences with TV pressure adjusting, I would recommend to use the pressure gauge - easy, cheap and exact (however I do not thing bad TV pressure was the couse of the end of my transmission)
