    I think Autometer makes a 2 1/16" Z series tach.

      Quite. I've see other name-brand options in that diameter too. VDO Cockpit Series is one of the best-appearing IMO, probably won't clash visually in most cars. But $70 does seem expensive for something you can easily do without, thus the popularity of the cheap 3-3/8" models (or so I imagine).

      My generic tach I got from JCWhitney 10-odd years ago is also 2-1/16". It was only like $15!

          Well, the Cockpit Series in black looks strikingly like the old factory cop-car gauges .....
