I seem to have what gadget73 referred to as the lopo miss. When I am traveling a constant spped most notably over 60mph there is a slight jerking/bucking sometimes it wont happen for 20-30 miles sometimes it will be every couple miles or 2-3 or more times in a row. Sometimes you can barely notice it others its a little easier to sense though its never a very hard jerk just slightly there almost like you wouldnt notice it if you werent paying attention for it. It seems most prevalent with the cruise set. In the past 3 months ive replaced the fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotor, wires, coil, tfi module, and map sensor and set the tps to .9 volts. This has been happening for as long as I can remember but I just now got around to asking about it. Im gonna try some injector cleaner but other than that I cant really think of anything to check. Ive also tried disconnecting the vac line to the egr but nothing changes.

"the lopo miss" could be as simple as plug wire routing or just about damn near everything that could go wrong with an efi engine...
unfortunatelyGive a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

Ok so finally got around to retreiving codes today and this is what I got both KOEO and KOER. 33) EGR valve opening not detected. So to me this means that its most likely the egr solenoid ill try some wd-40 and if that doesnt work I guess ill see about getting a new one. Also I'll pull the EGR valve off and see if it needs cleaned up. Oh and just out of curiousity where in the world is the egr pipe on this thing I've looked for it and can't find it, in my mind it would go from the exhaust manifold to the egr valve but apparently I am mistaken.Last edited by mercurygm88; 12-09-2011, 07:53 PM.

there's no pipe on that one. The EGR passage is internal to the intake. If you have a vacuum pump, you can test the EGR valve (or some vacuum line or even the line that goes to the soup can). put the vacuum source on the EGR's nipple... if the engine bogs/dies the EGR valve is fine. If not, the valve is either clogged to screwed.

If theres a crack in the vacuum hose or a leak at that connector, it will also do this. OPening the valve and having the motor die just means the passage in the intake isn't clogged shut.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Ok so today I replace the egr vacuum solenoid all driveability trouble are gone no more missing/sputtering/jerking. So it seems I have finally fixed it unfortunately I still didnt get a code 11 because I got a 44 and 94 both smog crap I dont care about. Funny thing is though sometimes I get both these codes sometimes neither and sometimes only 1 so I guess my smog system works when it wants to and doesnt when it doesnt want to. Got a code 11 on the KOEO though.Last edited by mercurygm88; 12-13-2011, 07:10 PM.

smog codes are meant to be ignored (except in California) :smirk:
