    Screw in freeze plugs?

I read a few times that they like to rust through and pop off on old engines. What you guys think?

Very few things had threaded core plugs, but I wouldn't expect the much thicker threaded plugs to have rusting problems. Most are the press-in steel plugs like the 302 uses. Yes, they can rot through but usually thats only if you neglect your cooling system badly. Change the coolant more often than once a decade and it should be fine. And/or replace them with brass and you'll never have to worry about it.
