Idle time in the winter may be a factor. But, thats if u let it warm up before u start driving. Did u chec the gap on the new plugs? Winter blend does decrease economy some. And also, switching to a 5-30 or even a 5-20 when its cold may increase economy. 5-30 year round wouldnt be a bad idea either. And check those vacuum lines and where the injector harness plugs into the main harness(drivers side, above the rear of the valve cover). A little compressed air and die-electric grease will ail that.

I have run several sets of Ford Racing wires run for 100K or better with no change in ohmage and have gotten great economy and performance with them. Some setups do realy require more restance though to work properly. Some of my real old sets have been used to replace bad wire or 2 on friends cars.
