Sensor sensors & electronic control module computer on 1983 5.0l grand marquis?

The oxygen sensor is located on passenger side. Follow the exhaust until it starts to drop down below the car & there it is. Clean the grime off the connector & you will need to use 2 small pieces of wire to prop the latches up. Then it will pull apart.

You really need a oxygen sensor 7/8in socket that has an open side to accomodate the electrical line. Especially for the new one. I took mine out with a regular socket after cutting the elect line halfway up to the connector. Start the engine & warm the manifold up before you take it out & it may come out easier.

You will probably have to use wire connectors since the new one doesn't come with the proper connector. Check continuity with a multi meter after the splice before you use a hair dryer on the shrink wrap.

Throttle position sensor is located on the front passenger side of the fuel injector unit. Yes you can change it without taking anything else off It's just a little tricky getting the right angle for it to go off & on.

Air charge temperature sensor is located on the back side of the fuel injector body on the driver's side. It's the one closest to you.

PCV is located on the valve cover where you put in the oil. Believe it or not it took me a while to figure that out. It kind of blends in with the filler cap.

Coolant temperature sensor is located above & behind the thermostat. Follow the top radiator hose back to the thermostat housing & then look on the back side.

Electronic control module computer is located inside the car under the drivers side dash. It has a large connector that goes through the firewall. You have to take off some device in the engine compartment to get at the connector, then just undo one screw holding the connector to the pins. You will see what look like latches, don't bother those, they stay on. Inside the car there are only 2 screws on the bottom that hold it in the frame. My car still had the original computer so it's doubtful there's anything wrong with your computer. It's a last resort replacement. By the way don't waste your money on the equus code reader at the parts store that says it's good for 1982 & later but you don't have a socket for it to plug into. Once you open the package you can't take it back.
