    pleading ignorance, belt question

    Ok, I think I narrowed it down to the belt that goes around the ac pump (not the power steering and alt), how easy is it to change???? I need to change it, its so annoying

    pull alt belt off, there are two bolts holding the tensioner one on the back, and one of the front. It's not too bad.

      is the tensioner the pulley right below the one for the condensor pump one (the one on top)? So there is a bolt in front, ...AND IN BACK?????

        Yes, that's correct. 14 or 13mm in the back. 14 or 15 at in the front for a pivot. There's actually a square to put a belt tensioner tool in, but you'll have to have your other hand on the back bolt to tighten it to hold tension.

        I've always had a little issue putting the new a/c belt on fitting it between the water pump pulley and the big lip in the middle of the crank pulley really sucks.

          14 mm on the back and the front. Once you see how it work it should make sense.

            Ok, so you don't have to use a tensioner tool (AKA tire iron) to tension the belt?

            Those bolts are on that pulley right below the AC condensor (top pulley)?

              I only recently found out about the 1/2 drive to tighten the tensioner, and never knew the combo wrench on the alt (I always used a tire iron too).

                      the "adjustment torque bolt" is the one on the back side of the bracket.

                        Interesting, i def like the 1/2 breaker bar being used as the tighteneer for the belt tightness!!. It seems like its somethign i could tackle in an hour

                            only if they are rusty or coated with something. If thats the case, a wire brush should do the job just fine.
