The 86 only had a double steel pipe under the intake. 87+ had a single pipe that used a hose from water pump to pipe, and a long hose from intake to core. If there are 2 long hoses with no steel pipe, someone removed the steel pipe. Its not that uncommon, they did rot out from time to time. I forget what the CFI cars had, but I think they had a single pipe deal with the EGR cooler tapped from it like the 87+ did.

Well for what it's worth here's what my '85 looked like. I gutted lots of the AIR stuff and can't verify if the heater hoses weren't messed with but because the clamps looked OEM I don't think they were.."To Find yourself, you must first lose yourself"
