I think the TV cable needs adjusting. It shifts funny and doesn't hold gears like I think it should... not to mention that it doesn't like to kick down from second easily (after slowing to an almost stop, need to mash it to kick it down, otherwise it shudders).

I saw the thread in Tech about adjusting the cable, so I'm gonna try to do that either on my lunch break or tonight when I get home. I know how quickly these things can go downhill with bad TV adjustment.

Thanks. I let my dad use mine a few times on his mail route and he's been trying to sneak it at random, so I figured I'd help him find one. This was on my way to work, so I stopped and inquired. The price and quality were right, so I called my dad and he bought it a few days later. Needs some work, but a good score. At least for me, since I didn't pay for it, I'll get paid to fix it, and it gets my dad off my back.

Well... I stopped for gas on the way to work and the overflow reservoir was boiling. Pretty sure it's going to at least need a new water pump and thermostat- Dad was SUPPOSED to swap them last weekend, but he went to TN, instead (not in the wagon!)

I'll likely go ahead and run a coolant flush through it and swap the radiator cap, too. New hoses all around, so not worried about them.

          Any other ideas?

We located the boiling coolant reservoir problem... Dad swapped in a new thermostat today. We couldn't get the old one to budge even after hitting it with a hammer.

...got the new one in, hooked up everything like it belongs...

I still like it, though. Driving it through the curvy roads on the way home at 55mph impressed me beyond belief. Makes me want to start saving for my air ride suspension before I do anything else at all... but that would be like clearcoating rust.

water pumps suck ass. its not a hard job exactly, just really friggin time consuming. whomever thought "hey, lets put a crapload of bolts in this water pump, then attach everything on the motor to it" needs his ass kicked.
