Well, it'll take a bit of money to get 300hp...but you will get within 50hp or better with a decent cam, intake and the GT40 heads
know i got a little more info on the 302 engine i m getting i was completely wrong its not 70s its 60s will it still work with these heads do i have to have emissions and stuff

You need to get the part numbers off the heads.
Best way too get power is porting the heads and stilll meet emisions. Use a mild cam with low over lap.

well i ll have to check my friend says there g40 how can i tell
If the heads are on the motor, look at the ends. They will have 3 lines if they are GT-40 and 4 lines if they are GT-40P heads. just below the end exhaust ports will be cast GT if they are GT-40 heads and GTP if they are GT-40P heads.

Once you know the decade it was made in by all of the misc. casting numbers on the motor, the easiest way is to just look on the intake manifold or under the valve cover on the head and you will see the casting date.
