Ahh, yes. Those two upper cats were removed 1-2 years after puchasing the car used with 72K on it. Knocked around like golf balls. The garage welded pipe from both manifolds to the 3-way cats. See attached pictures:

1) Left manifold flange/weld to..#2
2) Left flange extension to left 3-way, O2 injected cat

Well, I took a little time to draw up a crude drawing of what my car looked like underneath when I purch the car in 1993. This is just one side, there were pre-cats, totalling 4-cats (two pre, two 3-way), now solely the two three way after a Shell mech did some handy work in 1995.

This place, now torn down, claimed to have added the "bigger cats" to compensate for removing the pre-cats. I remember since I looked underneath when the thing was on the lift. The charged my folks for new cats they never installed - of course I didn't now any better since this was my first car.

lol I have indeed seen these vids. It sounds pretty nasty, its probably what I'm gonna do...however it wont pass inspection in NH dumping out the sides. But that aint gonna stop me (I got connections haha)
