in general, what does the locking function being eliminated in 3 and OD do to RPMS and fuel economy on the highway?

It raises the cruise RPM by 2600 at 40, and loses 14 mpg between 4100 and 4200 rpm.













Just kidding.

The rpm raises a few hundred, and I haven't noticed any mileage losses at cruise, but I don't live in Texas where the roads are all flat, either, lol, so I've never had to opportunity to drive 300 miles in one go with any of these convertors.

However, I didn't notice any mileage drop the few times I've done short road trips in these cars. I've also never kept one of my cars long enough to determine mileage losses (if there were any).

I would strenuously recommend putting a 24,000 GVW tranny cooler in front of the radiator if one installs one of these convertors, just to remind everyone.
