Hm. A source I know you aren't fond of posted in 2008 that the 18 degree valve angle is the only thing these heads have going for them, and implied that they were being offered at an excessive price. Speculation was raised in that thread that Edelbrock's main purpose was to regain market share from AFR, among customers who prefer an inline-valve GT40-type head.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

Here is some math for your Sunday morning pleasure...
This combo with 305RWHP. (Edelbrock Claims 443 HP, 424 ft. lbs.at the flywheel)
Put it in say a 3800lb Crown Vic with driver. This should net you a 1/4 Mile ET of 13.50 seconds @ 101MPH. If I input the flywheel horsepower of 443 which Edelbrock claims, the calculator gives an ET of 12.60. If you figure in .2 seconds loss of ET because of "spinning through 1st gear" you are 40HP short of a 12.35 Sec. ET. So the Oracle says we need 483'ish horsepower to run 12.35 seconds with a 3800lb car.
