I've been thinking, my U-Joints are stock as well as my drive shaft. If I start modifying my car how much HP/TORQUE can my stock shaft and joints take?

im running 300RWHP and
about 400 RWTQ on 325 drag radials with a stock driveshaft, i think the u-joints may even be original.

You should be fine, if there is a concern you can always replace it with the later model police aluminum driveshaft, or one from a tow package car. They have a bigger U joint and the shaft is larger. Its usually not the weak point unless you start making a whole lot more power than stock and are able to hook it up.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Just see if you can find an aluminum driveshaft from a PI, then you won't have to worry about it. Those also make your car more stable at high speeds, at least that's what i've heard.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

I had a lot of issues with the stock steel shafts and ripping the flange off the pinion with my 200hp/275ft*lb motor...No issues with my current much higher HP and aluminum shaft with standard replacement U joints.
The aluminum shafts are lighter and don't vibrate as much.Builder/Owner of Badass Panther Wagons
