    84 vicky rear sag...

    hi all,

i got a 1984 crown vic all stock and it had a really bad sag in the rear end. it looked like i was carrying concrete in the trunk. I bought new springs and it helped but it didn't quite do the trick. My question is if the rear control arm bushings are worn will it cause a sag in the rear?

what springs did you use? were they new or used?
the control arm bushings are probably tired, but they shouldnt make it sag

Are you hauling concrete in the trunk? If its not empty, might want to go with cargo coils. The stockers will sag pretty good with a load in there.

they are new variable rate coil springs and they are pretty stiff. The ride is noticeably better and they lifted the rear a good 2 inches. the rear needs to come up another inch or so to look level. Where would be a good place to get these bushings? I'm leaning toward the bushings being worn because this car sat idle in the texas weather for about five years and anything that looks rubber is pretty much dry rotted.

I bought 8 Spicer bushings a while back, had to get someone to actually dig out the book and look it up. Lincolnmania has one of them up there, he can probably get you the part number. There is also an Energy Suspension poly bushing kit that is very likely cheaper than the rubber ones. P/N for that is 4.3151

Ignore the 92-97 application, it works from 79-97.
