what gears for car 60 mph or under?

Well I live on a small island and wont ever be going over 60 mph but I will travel at 45 mph for 30 min a day. How tall should I go? Are aftermarket gears more likely to have problems than OEM? I'm really trying to avoid loosing any mpg for this though..

Well from 6k-14k feet I wont be going over 30 mph. My daily drive will put me at 45 mph though. What would it be in overdrive at 45 mph?

Usually 1600-1700 RPM in OD at 45, IIRC. I got 3.73s in my car too, love em

That sounds awesome. But I just did a little bit of reading on a gear install and I'm not sure if a total noob can handle it all.

3.73s and don't bother with OD...The motors make all the tq down really low. Don't need to rev them too high. The tq peak is like 1800 rpm.

Does that mean I should go with taller gears and use overdrive? Or is there something not good with using overdrive?

The biggest problem with overdrive is if you're at a speed where the transmission will constantly be shifting in and out of it, i.e., between 3rd and 4th gears. It's rough on the overdrive band, and tends to cause problems after awhile. If you're doing most of your driving at 45 mph or less, I'd agree with the others - don't even bother using it. The fuel economy difference will be negligible. As a matter of fact, you may very well get better mileage not using it under those conditions.
