how long will an 8 clutch ford track lok last me do you think before the clutches need replacement? The car see's about 10k kilometers a year and it is driven fairly hard at times but no drag racing just goofing around on "the street". I will most likely be going with a new 9" in 3 years or so so as long as this unit last me 3 years without losing its grip thats good.

It should last much longer than that. If it were to last only three years, I'd say you got a defective one.

Has anyone actually done a 9" in a Panther? It's talked about from time to time, but the8.8 is adequate for so much and is more mechanically efficient .... plus it requires no major mods.

The best thing about a 9, is no C clips, and u can set gears up very easy. witch is stronger? Its hard to say, toss enough $ into anything and u can make it stand up. With a .2 in. difference in ring gear size, there can't be that much of a difference in strength.
Is it possable to get some 31 spline shafts for our cars? That would be cheapest way to make our 8.8s stronger...

                  ^^ lmao!
I'd try to get some 31 spline shafts before a 9.

^^hahaha exactly. Well thats good, I will just run this 8.8 trac lok until she gives up then see about a 9". In the future the car will be seeing around a 400-500hp setup so if i can just get a good 9" whipped up and forget about it it would be great. For now it looks like an 8.8 will do fine keeping all of my 160hp under wraps haha.

                    thanks for the help
