    Thanks
using these size rims, what size tire can I run?
There is a set of 265/70/17s in the paper. Probably too big, sounds like a truck tire.

I was looking at sport truck tires...255/50/17s.

I want some insanely wide wheels and tires. I really want to see if the 10.5" wide mustang wheels will fit.

Thanks. with me towing I may go with something a bit taller to keep the rear end up. Though with my air shocks I didn't really have much sag towing my camper. Will see what transpires. Found a place in Allentown that sells tons of used tires. May check them out.

                        Tire sizes

What I am more concerned with is width wise. How wide can I go?

I checked them and the comments on them are horrible

These were OEM tires on my Sable LS Premium. They are one of the worst sets of tires I have ever had. They ride nice and are very quiet, but thats all the positive I can say. They are nearly undriveable in the snow or ice, even with my cars Traction Control - from day one. And, if you look at the gas pedal when it rains, they spin - in a Mercury Sable....Also, I think these are rated as 70,000-80,000 miles. Good luck. Thankfully, mine are shot at 35,000 miles and I can rationalize getting a new brand of tire. I rotated them religiously at 6,000 miles from day one. Also, after 25,000 miles, you will need to balance them 2-3 times a year. Go with the BF Goodrich Traction T/A Ts. Much better tire.

These are the OEM tires and it shows. On dry roads they are not bad but nowhere near the grip other all season tires provide. Once the roads turn wet be extra cautious, as these tires hydroplane extremely easily and have very limited grip (excessive wheel spin happens a lot if your throttle inputs are not minute). Also of note, these tires have an advertised 80,000 mile warrantee, with the way my look it seems like 40,000 miles is more probable and this is with proper tire inflation and rotation. This tires only good trait is that they are quite and ride comfort is good, and the price is dirt cheap.

Tires have a flat spot when sitting for periods. You can feel vibration through the steering for the first ten miles before the tires warm up. Continental used nylon in these tires according to G.M. G.M. has put out a notice to its dealers alerting them of the problem but, not to attempt to replace the tires. I am replacing the tires with Goodyear Assurance ComforTred with the dealer paying 1/2 the cost.

Falken ziex 512 is a good performance all season with some decent wear. Same goes for the kuhmo asx...

A 275/40 will fit, but it almost too much.

A 255/50 will keep some sidewall and is decently wide, not too expensive, and is the same overall diameter as the stock panther tire.
