Wheel hop and what to do about it?

As I started to add power parts to a lo po , the car developed wheel hop while doing burnouts. It hop twice to tree times until 45 mph indicated and then it regains traction. So what is the solution to stop wheel hopping?

My first impression was that maybe you need more weight in the back, but the following link indicates it's probably a suspension bushing issue:

If your car has high mileage and has never had the bushings replaced, now might be the time.

2000 Grand Marquis LS HPP, a hand-me-down in 2008 with 128,000 km; 175,000 km as of July 2014
mods: air filter box 'tuba', headlight relay harness, J-mod (around 186,350 km), 70mm throttle body, KYB Gas-A-Just shocks, aluminum driveshaft, ARA3 PCM

peg legging? or do you have a trac loc? I don't see a lopo wheel hopping up to 45 with both tires spinning.....

are your rear shocks and springs in decent shape? Tired shocks will let the wheel tend to hop more than ones that are working right. Second the thought of a traction lock and/or replacement bushings too if appropriate.

Bounce the rear of the car on each rear corner of the trunk or bumper. If it bounces up and down a few times shocks are gone. Bad shocks could also mean coil springs are tired. Bad shocks will wear down coil springs quickly compaired to leaf springs.

No traction lock on this one. 3.08 gears. Mods are: 3g alt, Ho throttle body with bored out egr spacer and upper plenum, bypassed water thru egr spacer, nothing after cats-side exhaust, pcv converted to road draft (no pcv screen),no ac or air pump, police speedo. THe same mods on other car resulted in 160rwhp 280rwtq. I'm thinking about putting wagon springs in it with new shocks.

No revving in neutral. Just push the skinny pedal all the way from stop. Maybe i do need a 3.27 traction lock rear end.

Back to basics, shocks, springs, bushings, springs in that order if not at once. Trac-loc is generally a net positve except for low powered cars with no winter and or mud to worry about.
