I changed my mind about the motor paint scheme. You'll just need to wait until I do it before you can have your pictures.

Looking at the block, do you think it'd be okay to just hit it with degreaser and paint it or should I try to sand it a bit?

I would at least take a wire wheel, or wire bush to it after you degreas it. That way the paint will actually adhere to it.

I found the Exploder throttle and cruise control cables bracket, so all I need are the cables.

          :stupid:
Might also want to wipe it down with a rag soaked in acetone or something just to get any lingering crap off before you paint it.

I know it's kind of pricey, but I find that rinsing with some carb cleaner is one of the best preps for painting, because it evaporates completely.

                You mean brake cleaner?

Carb cleaner actually doesnt evap as quick.

Does it really matter how quickly it evaporates? It's not like I'll be standing there with the cleaner in one hand and the paint in the other! :asshat:

Does this look like a Mustang EGR spacer?

Also, am I supposed to remove this from the oil filter mount location? I can't get a grip on it at all.

So, I can use that with the cables and bracket you're getting and shipping to me? Can you 2nd-day that stuff, too? I'll be ready to start dropping the motor Friday (Dec 2nd).

You'd want 87-92 Mark VII. 1986 has a different TV cable and the attachment point on the throttle lever is different.
