I found this wesite where they used the internals of a 4R70w in an AOD shell. Full auto with no computer plus a 2.84 first gear. Seemed cool. however, it was like $2900.00. I think Im just going to take the "get my aod rebuild by someone who knows whay their doing" route.

A wide ratio AOD is not some giant pricetag item, if done by someone who isn't out to rob you. There used to be a kit sold specifically to do this, but now you're left with either ordering the parts individually, or getting a donor 4R70w to rob hard parts from. Getting all the pieces individually could run the price way up though, but if you can get a decent donor tranny to rob, it gets much cheaper.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
