    I need help, again:-(!

    On a 1986 Grand Marquis 302 w/EEC-4.

Where is the temperture sensor located? And can someone post a picture of what it looks like?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Stand in front of the engine.

Look at your upper radiator hose.

Just above that on the lower intake you will see a pipe threaded into the block that then disappears underneath the upper intake.

On that pipe just an inch or so behind where it threads into the lower intake you will find your engine coolant temperature sensor.

That sensor on that pipe is what the vehicles computer uses to do it's stuff.

The sensor that makes the idiot check engine light go off is opposite of where the pipe is threaded into the lower intake.....it is right up front but on the drivers side of the vehicle opposed to the passengers side.

What he said. Also, the computer's sensor is a 2 wire plug, the idiot light is a single wire.

OK, I must be blind, or an idiot! I can not find the Temp sensor...........why?.........because the only thing remotely looking like one has a single silver stud at the top........and attached to that is a push/pull connector....one wire not two. Now I know Gadget said the idiot light one is single wire.......so consider this...the FoMoCo part number for this sensor is E43Z-10884-A and looking at a picture of this sensor clearly shows a single metal stud at the top....for a single push/pull connector! Can someone please take a picture of this sensor on the engine and post it here........I realize this is a simple thing but I need HELP!!!

The only thing I see is screwed into the intake manifold. What is an ECT?? This looks to be on top of the upper hose engine inlet.
