ECM on '87 GM (location)??

    ECM on '87 GM (location)??

    Never looked for it and am wondering where is the exact location? Under the hood or inside the dash?? Thanks....Bobby

    Look under the drivers side dash above and just to the left of the brake pedal. You will see the computer there. You must removed the nut holding the bulk connector from the firewall side, outside.

      Thanks Dave! The nut you are speaking of is under the hood, I assume? If so, can you get to it from above or under the car (I would think if it that low under the car would be best but have to ask)?

        It's under the hood and you can get to it from above it is just somewhat of a pain cuz of the inner fender. I believe it's a 10mm, may be easier if you remove the cruise ball which is also 10mm

          Wheel well sorta gets in the way more from the bottom unless you remove it.

            easy way is to remove the cruise servo then use a swivel head extension (10 inch to help clean stuff) or a u-joint, on a 10mm socket and take it off. Then just yank the ECM out from under the dash.

                that would be even more bolts... costs more... can't have that.

                  Is it only one bolt under the hood? If so, why not do one bolt inside??
